College of the Day: West Virginia University

About four hours to the west, along a major river in the mountains of West Virginia, you'll find West Virginia University, a major university with popular reputations in many academic areas, and an athletic powerhouse in most sports. Admission tends to be a little more open than Towson University, but because they discount tuition for West Virginia residents, most Maryland applicants will end up paying as much to attend WVU as any other public flagship university across state lines.
